INCLUDED IN THIS RESOURCE:
Whether you are focusing on the 12 or 24-hour clock – or both – there’s plenty to choose from here. Just select the resources you want. The 12 hour versions of each resource can be found first. In almost all cases, these are then followed by 24 hour versions (except for the maze). The “12h” or “24h” in the top right corner will help you identify them.
The worksheets and puzzles are at various levels of difficulty, all of them differentiated, to provide plenty of variety and challenge for you to select the most appropriate for the range of ages and abilities that you teach.
SUPPORT PAGES: Word mats to display or print for students who require it, for 12 and 24-hour time, and in black and white too. Please note that these support pages are also contained in my printable games packet for this topic.
WORKSHEETS: 10 worksheets (with answer keys), all in both 12 AND 24-hour versions, and all differentiated at least two ways using a star system. The 1-star version is the least challenging, for lower ability, younger or less experienced students and almost all of these focus on quarter hour intervals. Many of the 2-star worksheets are in five minute intervals. For Worksheet 4, the 1-star version is in five minute intervals and the 2-star is to the nearest minute, to provide variety and extra challenge. The two “À quelle heure…?” worksheets (Les Activités / Le Transport) are differentiated 3 ways.
PUZZLES: There’s an airport puzzle, hidden word puzzle and maze. The airport puzzle is differentiated; the other two are not. The maze also does not have a 24h version.

French KS2 / KS3 MEGA BUNDLE 1
If you are teaching Describing People in French (Appearance, Hair, Eyes etc) at KS2 or KS3, this Describing People in French / Les Descriptions Physiques PowerPoint presentation and activities will help you plan lessons, with key teaching points, speaking activities, a quiz and an interactive game. This 97-slide presentation includes vocabulary and phrases for describing hair and eyes (Les Cheveux et Les Yeux), together with body size and details such as freckles and beard and accessories such as a hat, earrings and glasses.
My French basics / beginners resources are designed for Year 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 for initial teaching or revision, but might suit others, depending on experience. Please check the preview to assess suitability. Due to a small number of UK, US and Canadian differences, there are 3 versions of the PowerPoint in the Zip file, along with a PDF version for all 3.
SAVE by purchasing this as part of a French Physical Descriptions BUNDLE, which also contains:
French Physical Descriptions Worksheets
French Physical Descriptions Games
You might also be interested in my Character Traits in French BUNDLE
Or a Describing People (Physical and Character) BUNDLE, which contains all 7 resource packs on both topics, including one that combines both: (French Physical and Character Descriptions Translation Cards and Comprehension)
THIS PRESENTATION IS ALSO CONTAINED IN:
French Presentations MEGA BUNDLE
The Presentation has been included in UK, Canadian and US versions with minor amendments to spelling. The other difference is the use of ‘bruns’ instead of ‘marron’ to describe brown eyes in the Canadian version as this is more common. Most text in the PowerPoints is editable anyway, if you wish to make changes to suit your students.
Many slides in the original PowerPoint version feature answers that appear on a click, for students to respond. An additional PDF version is included. While the PDF version does not retain the ability for teachers to reveal answers by clicking, it will help you introduce and review this topic if you do not have PowerPoint where you work. The final 3 slides of the PowerPoint (an interactive hexagons game) is not compatible with PDF and is omitted from that version.
Thank you for your interest.

Students practise months of the year (les mois de l’annee), days of the week (les jours de la semaine), saying the date (la date), and key phrases: ‘Quelle est la Date?’ and ‘C’est quel jour?’ 3 worksheets, 3 crossword puzzles and a word search.

* Equivalents such as Grades 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 Core French in Canada
* May suit others, depending on experience
Differentiated versions of almost all activities. These resources will help you plan multiple lessons.
The first two worksheets come in differentiated versions. The one-star versions are for younger, lower ability, or less experienced students. They include sentence starters and / or less challenging questions. Worksheet 2 is more challenging than the others, with a very short reading comprehension and questions related to yesterday’s and tomorrow’s date. Worksheet 3 (Anagrams) is not differentiated. All 3 crosswords come with and without supporting word banks. The word search comes in 2 versions too, one for older or higher ability students where they can write the French words on the lines once they have found them in the word search and an easier version with the first three letters of the French words provided.
Within the Zip file are two PDF files, one containing the worksheets and the other the puzzles. These resources can be used in any English-speaking country (UK and US date versions where relevant).
The puzzles include:
A simple crossword for days of the week (Les jours de la semaine)
A simple crossword for months of the year (Les mois de l'annee)
A larger crossword combining days of the week and months of the year
A word search for days and months
Solutions for all 4 puzzles
As the first crossword is very small, two are included on one page. I would be very grateful for a review if you get a spare moment. Many thanks.
